It seems little awkward when you first time hear about the use of coriander for hair growth.Normally we use coriander in our vegetables and normally in plate decoration. It belongs to the apiaceous family also known as the carrot family. Coriander is believed to originate from turkey region. The coriander plant grows up to 1–2 feet in height. It possesses dark green, hairless, soft leaves having a variable shape. All parts of the plant are edible and also can be used for medical purposes. Starting from roots to stem and then leaves and seeds all has their own uses and application. Apart from its cooking uses, it has been found to own certain prominent plant derived chemical compounds which have disease preventing and health promoting properties. The leaves, roots and stems of cilantro plant have been found to have antibacterial and carminative properties.

Make a paste:

Take the fresh coriander leaves. Grind them with half cup of water. Make a smooth paste and then apply this paste on your scalp. Apply it consistently and make sure that the paste riches the roots of hairs. Keep this for 15–20 minutes and then shampoo your hairs. You can repeat this activity twice a week. Results can be seen after two weeks or in some cases it will take 4–6 weeks to show its effect. This will help in hair restoration.

Coriander oil:

You damage your hairs significant amount while doing experiments on them to look better. Especially women when they go in parlours or salons for hair setting their hairs have to go throw tough time. Lot of chemical products and hot hair straighter are used to make them look better. These things reduce the strength of hairs and you start losing them. In such cases coriander oil is best for women hair loss. You can get coriander oil easily from local market. Simply put 5–6 drops of oil directly on your scalp and then start massaging gently while using your fingers. Keep massaging for 10–15 minutes and then shampoo your hair. You can repeat this process 2–3 times a week. This oil will also help in treating the dandruff problem. When you will start using this oil you will see fewer hairs in your comb. You can easily comb your hairs and more shine and life will be seen now in them. You can therefore see lot of improvement in your hairs but though with the passage of time so keep calm and use it regularly. The only problem with it is its strong funky smell. But you will be used to it after using it few times. Always use organic and unadulterated coriander oil.

Coriander seeds:

Alternatively you can first grind the dry coriander leaves and make a powder out of it. Then mix this powder with your own hair oil which you use normally. Now you can repeat same procedure as discussed above.

Coriander hair rinse:

You can also make hair rinse from coriander leaves. Take few grams of fresh coriander leaves and boil them in water for 15–20 minutes. Take out the leaves and pour the rinse left behind in a bottle. Apply few ml of this rinse on your scalp and massage it for 10–15 minutes while using your fingers. Wash it off with your normal shampoo. You should repeat this process for at least twice a week to get a natural hair restoration.

Coriander juice:

Coriander is rich in proteins, iron, fibre, carbohydrates, vitamins and many more. Consuming a coriander juice is boon to our health. Make the coriander juice by grinding the chopped coriander leaves with water. You can add little sugar or honey to make its taste better and remove its bitterness. Drinking this juice 3–4 times a week will not only help to make your hairs healthy but will give you numerous health benefits like fever, control, cholesterol problem, improves stomach capabilities, treat diarrhoea and improve menstruation. Alternatively you can add a pinch of turmeric powder in the juice and can apply it on skin acne affected areas, pimples to treat them.

For all those who are concerned regarding their hair loss trouble, they should know that there is a period of about 2–4 months when hair is said to go through telgon phase which is due to the situation named telogen effluvium as per which there will be expected hair fall. For all those who do not know what telogen phase is will be able to distinguish it once they see a bulb on hair tip when it sheds, however there is nothing to be anxious about since there will be growth of new hair strand as a replacement for the one which has been shed. There is also nothing to worry immensely about this phase since it is said to last only for 3 months which will then be followed by normal hair growth, but for those who spot this phase to last more than 6 months should go with medical help.
