Many people suffer from embarrassment due to dark skin around the neck. It is a very common skin pigmentation disorder called as Acanthosis nigricans. Sun exposure and ageing are the most common reasons for discoloration of skin. There are certain other factors such as poor hygiene, diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome, genetics and sudden weight gain or loss that cause discoloration.
Natural Remedies for Dark Neck:
1) Walnuts
Minerals and vitamins are found in great quantity in walnuts which provide nourishment to the skin. Walnuts keep the skin moisturized which is very important for glowing and healthy skin. A scrub of walnuts and yogurt is one of the best solutions of skin discoloration. Take some yogurt and add crushed walnuts to it. Make a thick paste and apply it on the dark portion on your neck. Scrub for a few minutes and then allow it to dry. Use cold water or rose water to wash it off.

2) Almonds
Vitamins which are extremely necessary are found in almonds that help keep the skin glowing and healthy. You can make a paste of half a teaspoon of powdered almonds along with 1 teaspoon of honey and milk powder. Apply this paste on the back and sides of your neck and then leave it for at least half an hour. Wash it off with water and ensure that you apply this paste two to three times in a week.
3) Cucumber
The appearance of the skin around the neck area can be improved by cucumbers. Soothing properties are found in cucumbers that assist in repairing the skin cells and in removal of dead skin cells leaving the skin with a glow. Apply cucumber juice or grated cucumber on the affected areas and scrub gently for ten minutes. Wash it off with rose water or cold water. You can also mix equal amounts of lemon juice and cucumber juice and apply It on your neck with the help of cotton balls. Leave it on for ten minutes and then wash it off. Ensure that you apply it daily for some months for better results.
4) Oats
Oats are great skin scrubbers and they help in exfoliating the skin. It is extremely effective in getting rid of dark complexion that appears around the neck. All you need is two tea spoons of coarsely ground oats. Add it to a little tomato puree to make a paste. Apply this mixture on your neck area and allow it for twenty minutes. Scrub your neck and then wash it off with cold water. Apply a good moisturizer. This must be at at least twice in a week for better results.

5) Lemon juice
Lemon juice has citric acid which acts as a natural bleaching agent. Vitamin C is found in in lemon which helps in getting rid of dead cells and lightens the skin tone. Apply lemon juice on your neck with the help of a cotton ball. Allow it for 20 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. Ensure that you do not expose your skin to the harsh UV rays right after applying the lemon juice.
