Drink lots of water:

Best and most effective way to keep your skin moisturized is by drinking lot of water. It helps you to retain moisture and removing dead cells from body. Drink at least 10-12 glass of water every day. In winters you can have warm water.


Pumping up helps you to sweat out toxins from your body. Doing regular exercise increase oxygen intake improves blood circulation, helps in digestion and removes dead cells which ultimately increase your face glow.

Honey-Egg paste:

Mix one egg yolk with 1 table spoon of honey. Make a consistent paste and then apply this paste on your face and neck then let it dry for at least 15-20 minutes then wash it with water at room temperature. This can be repeated 2-3 times a week.

Eat seeds and nuts:

Adding seeds and nuts in your diet is age longed proven method in ayurveda to help dry skin. Nuts and seeds contain omega 3 fatty acid and vata is dry in nature so they help to maintain balance. Almonds, flax seeds, walnuts will work.


When you get emotional and feel stressed vata get infuriated and it sucks all the moisture from your skin and makes it dehydrated. Meditation is effective way to reduce stress and feel calm and thus balance your vata secretion.

Oil massage:

Especially in winters when skin become dry massage your body with coconut oil before taking bath. It will maintain the moisture level of your skin and will cure the dry cracked skin and will help you to attain smooth skin that you always desired for.


Include veggies in your diet. Veggies like carrot, spinach, cucumber etc are high source of water. According to ayurveda they are having purifying properties and helps in clearing toxins from body and thus are good for all types of skin.

Use natural moisturisers:

Applying milk cream, butter for few days before going to bed will heal the cracked skin effectively. It will also reduce the dark spots significantly.

Avoid using beauty products:

We often use beauty products to look beautiful without knowing the side effects of them on our skin. Long time use of these commercial products can seriously damage your skin cells.
