Getting hurt is common and it can happen with adults as well as kids. Bruises come up on account of an injury sometimes. 1. Cold and heat compress:

This is the most common and most favourable treatment for bruises. You should treat the affected area with the cool pad or ice pack so that the swelling in that area can be reduced quickly. But this action should be taken very quickly almost as soon as you get the bruise. You should get an ice pack and every couple of hours you should take out 15 minutes for this. With in a span of few days you will find that the bruised skin gets fine. If you have not benefited with the ice pack and if there has been severe itch with ice then you can try using heat pack. But this should be done only if there have been not much results with ice pack.

2. Use the elevation method:

Along with the ice pack and cold compress there is one more method you can do to quicken the bruise fading away. You should elevate your leg or hands where the bruise is there. Suppose if you have bruise on your arms then keep it above a few pillows so that the elevation can help to avoid pulling of blood from the heart. Same thing you can do if you have bruise in your leg. Keep it elevated.

3. Home remedies you can try:

You can massage the bruise gently a couple of times a day. Do not put pressure or else the situation would be grave. Just simple massage for a minute or so. There is one more way to reduce the prominence of bruise and that is you can expose the affected area into sun. It is believed that sun light helps in reducing the prominence of bruises. Eating pineapple is also considered as good for fading away of bruise.

The above remedies would surely help you in getting rid of bruise quickly. But if it hurts a lot and there is too much of pain involved then you can take a pain killer. But make sure you talk to your doctor first. If you think that things are not under your control then look out for immediate medical attention.
